Looks like I am waiting till April to get mine. That is when the new XSi ( Canon Rebel) will be shipped to stores. This one is a 12.2 MP, but the one thing I like is that they are changing over to SD cards, and I already have 4-2gig cards, so I can save that way, lol.

I have continued to look at other cameras, but I will end up sticking to Canon or Nikon. Seeing how they discontinued the d40/x lines and replaced with the D60, which really is the same camera, but the Canon XSi changed the menu to be more like the pro line of cameras, plus offer live vue, etc... I think Canon has the upper hand for now. For me anyhow.

Canon does produce a great product, but for me, bang for the buck the A200 ($649 CAD) was a brilliant deal. I am quite comfortable with Sony cameras as my P&* continues to serve me well.

Jerry, once I get a memory card, we'll do that tutorial.

Still nothing for me yet....

Still waiting on my federal tax return, and actually making the decision to purchase it... still on the fence of TV or Camera

You guys are giving me the itch. My new Elph SD 1000 is great for taking around in my pocket, but between you guys, and a friend of mine in the district at work who just got a 40D....

For some reason, I can't get into the Sony'* or really any DSLR outside of Nikon and Canon. I prefer Nikon, just because all my gear is Nikon (so I'll probably stick with Nikons for the rest of my life). If you get a DSLR, keep us posted on what it is and give us some sample shots!

I see we have quite a few digital camera users here. Here'* a great deal on a high end 2GB CompactFlash memory card bundled with a super fast Firewire card reader. Note: Your computer needs a Firewire port to use this card reader. I can download a full 2gb card in less one minute with this card & reader.

PS - This bundle also comes with software that'll recover lost images from the card.

I feel the same way about Canon, I keep thinking...photocopiers...but they seriously have a great product. I'm pleased with the Sony because its essentially a Minolta. Either way, any model is capable.

I took a few quick snaps with my new cam, I'm hooked...its amazing.
