Default Links Gone Wild (images too)

[rant]
Ok so this is getting crazy. I have clicked on 3 threads in a row and all of them had a horizontal scroll bar in them. It is a simple result of people being either too lazy or un-informed about the use of the url tag.
Example: Ladies of BC!! I need your help!!! (which just happened to be the last thread I took a look in).
OR you could do it this way (same link as the 3rd one in the thread linked to above.
Zales - Diamond Promise Ring

Which is the hidden url tag with description and is as follows:
It only takes an additional 10 seconds to clean up your thread. These type of things are getting out of hand. When I have to use horizontal scroll on my 1600x1200 res monitor, that is bad. There should be no need for that and I could only imagine what it would look like on a lower res monitor.

Pictures are a whole other issue, but not as bad as some of the more recent threads with long links. Pictures can be handled in the same manner though. You can inbed an img link into a hidden url link. The image tag would link to the lower res (600x400 or smaller), and the url tag would link to the full res shot for those that wanted to view them. The link would look something like this:
Code:

The end result is exactly how I have done the pictures from the links in my sig. Very nice and clean, but still the opportunity to view the full res shots if someone so desires.

Ditto... I'm glad somebody made a point of that. Side scrolling could be one of my biggest pet peeves! Please, for the sake of others, resize your pictures and use a short tag for your links!

I agree. It'* a pain in the rear side scrolling.
