What camera do you have? sweet pics..

Canon Powershot S400. Nice camera, but you can't control too many custom features. I plan on getting a Digital SLR within the next few months.

what setting do you put on for night shots? Anything special you have to do? Cuz i have a sweet cam but my night pics SUCK!

Well, I don't know how your camera works, but this is what I do for mine:

-Get a tripod.
-Manual mode: ISO 100, 10 to 15 second exposure, Landscape mode (to get more detail for landscapes), Flash Off

Without that long exposure, barely any light would be picked up, and the pictures would be practically black. Thankfully the moon was there to offer some light.

Tried my hand last night. 100 ISO, 15 second exposure, on my windowsill pointed upwards.




Photoshopped for brightness though :(




I do believe my Canon A75 has more manual features. Not sure though, I'm looking at pics of the Canon S400 through Google. Seems to be less options on the dial.

The dial is pretty plain, but there are a lot of menus where you can play with things. Still though, there isn't much to work with.
