Laptop problems.
 

Well, my Dad's Dell laptop won't boot up. It turns on and all, but Windows just won't boot up. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this? It's a Dell Latitude. It has Windows XP I believe, with a Pentium 4. Any ideas?

check the cd drive for anything in it. then pull the battery and let it sit for like 1/2 hour w/o battery. Give that a shot.

what is the product model?

It is a Dell Latitude C840, model number: PP01X.

And I found the service tag, JPJ7611 is the alphanumeric code on it, just below the bar code.

no that is a tag for a Dimension 8200

Do you see the windows XP splash screen at all?
