Default Laptop Choices

Okay, so I'm going to have to break down a buy a new laptop for my next semester in college. I really want a MacBook but I haven't used a Mac since I was a kid and I'm not very familure with the new Mac OS. I'm also worried about compatibility issues. Does anyone know if Word for Mac is totally compatible with Work for Windows? Anyone have any suggestions for a good Windows Laptop? Thanks everyone.

If you want a Windows PC (With Vista) HP Or Dell.

If you want a Mac that can do Windows XP and OSX. get a Mac Book Pro.

Well, I think I like the idea of having a Mac more than acutally having one. I have an old PowerBook G3, and it still works after almost 10 years, but is totally obsolete in every way. But being in college I think compatibility is gonna be more important that astetics. I was looking at Sony Viao Notebooks, but I don't know much about the brand.

A little off topic, but Sapphire, you interested in selling that Powerbook G3? I may be very interested. PM me if you wanna dump it off.

But yeah, Toshiba is top of the line for laptops, and then HP or Dell for Laptops. I hear Acer is pretty damn good too.

I wouldn't touch Acer for free.

Dell or HP/Compaq. Bang for the buck and reliability cannot be beat.

MacBook Pros can dual boot both windows and mac, which would be the best of both worlds.

HP has the best laptop PC in my opinion. overall, the macbook pro takes the #1.

I am in college and I have a powerbook G4... macbook pro is in the near future.
