Simpsons is longest running first-run sitcom ever, passed M*A***H a coupla years back
There are a few shows that have been on longer, mostly variety shows(Late Show), News(60minutes, 20/20), and, oh yeah, Sooooooooouuuuuuuulllll Train

The longest running fictional (non-talk, non-news) TV series was Walt Disney Presents, which ran for 34 seasons. Next in line is Gunsmoke, which ran for 20 seasons.

The longest running show ever is Meet the Press, first aired in 1947. Good lord.
