Just drove a 2008 BMW 335i coupe w/ 16k miles and every option from New York to Illinois. I never drove a BMW before, and this one has over 300hp. BMW is one great automobile, can’t say anything other than wow. Super smooth and super fast.
With the above said, I parked the BMW and got immediately in the 2001 SSEi with 150k miles. Did not feel like I was stepping down at all. Super comfortable, responsive and easy to drive. Not as fast as the 335i, but more than fast enough for what I need. I am amazed how close the SSEi is to the BMW in over feel and driver satisfaction and even creature comforts.
I have driven a CTX, 2011 LaCrosse with every option and dozens of other GM vehicles over the past few years. None come anywhere close to the SSEi I drive. GM made a huge mistake stopping production of

I thought about buying a BMW.... Until I smoked one with MY Chevrolet !!
When we were tuning my 2500 I killed a NBS Camaro SS... Guy never saw that coming, I don't think he has washed that streak of soot off the side of his car yet
When he pulled up beside me he said the tires and Exhaust were smoking LOL

I drive a varieties of cars/trucks and it never ceases to amaze me of the comfort and responsiveness of my GXP. And lets remember the car was what it was because GM put so much into it they couldn't make a profit. One of the few cars you got what you paid for. It'* a shame Pontiac couldn't keep sale price vs cost under management.
