Default Job just took turn into dead end. what next?

As you all may know, and if not then now you do, i work as a telemarketer @ choicepoint precision marketing. half of our call center is being laid off because we lost the contract to a key project. i have the oppurtunity to sacrifice my job to someone else who needs it more than i. the only catch is that i need to have my decision in by tomarrow morning. what should i do? here is some weighing factors:

I hate my job
i sit on my butt all day, which is growing every day
i get 2 weeks worth of pay after i get laid off <april 1st>
i have no real bills
there are some single parents that are barely scraping by with the job they are losing

by offering, i got the attention of everybody, including the vice president of choicepoint, Glenn Goodroe. i am serious guys, i wish i knew what to do. its all coming so fast, so much to decide, so much in the scales, so much to do, yet so little time.

please advise and vote

,
jolly

Dude telemarketing is beat. You'll hate it more and more. at least i did.
and that 2 weeks pay is a sweet deal which gives you time to find a job you'll like more.

I have to agree. There are probably many job that even if you don't get paid as much, you'll be much happier doing. I'd say start applying else wehere between now and the 1st, take the week after off, and then schedule any interviews for the week after. Also by giving up your job to someone who is less fortunate, seeing as you already have the attention of the upper management, they might look at you in favor, and could even provide good letters of recommendations for future employment.

Give it up. Apply at golf courses, kennels, pounds, stuff like that before the kids in college get to it. Do you have an amusement park around you? Gas stations are usually always hiring

Apply to become a fireman there since they are stopping service with Rural Metro and are becoming a city run department.

There is something always better out there........Give it up and move on. Take it easy during the summer working summer jobs. Never know one may turn out to be full time. Besides you just may find one you like better.

the verdict is in.

I'm keeping it for now, and putting in a bunch of applications everywhere. i need to get out of that place anyway, it looks almost like the company is setting up to lose our call center. we only had 3 campaigns that we dialed. one is gone, one keeps reducing their quotas for the day, and the last one is small from the start. i can see it all setting up for a big screwover. i hope i can get out in time. :?
