Imus in the Morning cancelled permanently

All of the publicity it has gotten is a waste of airtime.
He'll probably end over on Sirius or XM now. I'm sure XM is salivating at the chance to get him to compete against Stern on Sirius.

In six years of political blogging, I have never seen anything come close to this. If someone'* issues are racism and sexism, this guy'* screwup is barely a symptom of the actual problems. Every writer, analyst, actor, politician, and TV maven who could barely form a coherent sentence with a subject and a verb, came out of the woodwork on this one. If you've never seen a mob lynching, well, you have now. This was ugly all the way around.

I'm glad he got fired he deserved it. Yes we do have freedom of speech in this country, but that still does not get you the right to yell fire in a crowded theater. When Imus spoke about these women he was not speaking in a joking manner, he was basically describing them. Calling them "nappy headed tattooed hoes" was very inappropriate.
Now I will say this, me being black, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are no angels themselves. They have both said stupid comments in the pass too, which is why I really don't support either one of them. Personally, I feel they both turn everything into a race issue (Black vs White) just so they can be in the public eye. Something Martin Luther King would not be doing if he was still alive. Neither of these men represent the black race (certainly not me), but people tend to think these men'* views and opinions represent the view and opinions of all Black Americans.
Another issue I have is with bad rap music. Many of these new crappy artist today only can rap about insulting women and using the 'N' word because they can't rap about anything else. Which is why I refuse to buy any of their albums. There are good rap artist who actually rap about life and real issues without having to say the those degrading terms throughout their songs. Not to mention, when rap music was first created it did not use to be about insulting women, drugs and guns. I hate when I hear Black people use the 'N' word, and I certainly hate it when other races use it. My two cents

In today’* world, I feel that many people, like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and so on are taking some things that aren’t racist or discriminatory and twisting them out of proportion. But, in this case, I don’t think this is so. His comment was racist and discriminatory. The name "shock jock" doesn’t mean you can say anything. It just means you haven’t pushed the buttons far enough yet to get off the air, but your time is coming.
