The 2003 Neon SXT is 132 horsepower. BUT, it is also over 1,000 pounds lighter than a Bonneville... The Neon has to pull 19 pounds PER horsepower, the Bonneville has to pull 17.. I think the Neon would be a decent competition to the bonne honestly.. It really depends on the gearing and if it'* a manual, but the Bonne wouldn't be THAT much faster than the Neon I don't think. The whistling BTW is probably just an intake restrction of some kind.

the bonnie'* big6 can make the torque, jump off even w/ trac. on

unless your running all out at the salt lake flats of our namesake
the hp/lbs ratings aren't as important as lbs/ft
more thrust = more acceleration = quicker exits from turns
