I've been trying to sell my xbox on ebay. The first time i listed it i got a stupid scammer trying to get me to send it to Nigeria, and he sent me a fake PayPal e-mail saying that i had the money but there was no money in my paypal account. So i shrugged it off, and relisted the xbox. Well today i get home check my e-bay account and its sold. I went and checked my e-mail, and i get another e-mail from some loser in Nigeria trying to rip me off. I am sick of this **it! I even put bidder restrictions on the auction but some how this loser got through I am done trying to sell **it on ebay.

Its a good idea to have different email address for paypal and ebay; makes spotting the fake emails real easy.

Sell to US only... I never have any problems like that.

i did... they just create accounts saying they are in the US and then say that they want to have me ship it to there "son or daughter" over in Nigeria

Put a disclaimer saying "I DO NOT SELL OR SHIP ITEMS TO NIGERIA, EBAY SCAMMERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED" Hopefully that in addition to "Only ship to the USA" will stop those idiots from wasting your time I thought it was only an email problem with those Nigeria scams...I see now it has moved on to ebay too

I guess it must be about the xbox. There is a way to block bidders for auctions.... go into the help menu and type in blocking bidders. Might be something there that is useful.

Yea i have all the bidder restrictions that are available. They just aren't "restrictive" enough
And yea i even had in the auction "i only ship to the US" I guess they just don't read.

Just be glad you're not one of the people that spent around $5000 hoarding them...... thinking they could make a huge profit on ebay... only to find out the demand wasn't there.

i am very close to having my ebay account taken from me because i won an auction for bonneville parts, sent the guy a money order, cuz he wouldnt accept paypal, and a month later he is telling me he never got it


i am NOT gonna send him more money, and i keep getting alerts from ebay that i need to pay him.. argh

Man, that sucks. I guess the lesson is if you're gonna send a MO, send it registered. I don't buy from people who don't take paypal, cause it'* just too much of a hassle.

I think I know the answer, but is there any way to tell if the MO has been cashed?
