I have a friend just like yours. I love her just the same. I can't even fathom something like that happening to her, so I know how you must feel. Your friend is most certainly in my prayers.

thank you everyone.

the outlook is slightly better than it was last night.

she is still in the coma. a little bit more information on what happened (its sketchy, because shes still unable to respond): she was driving home and at some point around 10am, she lost control of her car. she wasnt wearing her seat belt (which is what gets me, she always wears it when im around. why wasnt she wearing it then???), so when her car rolled she was thrown out of the car, breaking her neck and knocking her unconscious. someone passing by saw her lying there and called an ambulance. and the rest is history.

the good news: her eyes are moving (still closed, but they are moving), and her toes curl when prompted. so theres increasing hope that she will not only regain consciousness but she may not be paralyzed . . .. my fingers are crossed.

good news. if her toes are moving, that is a GREAT sign.
when she'* all better, and youre done being happy for her, make sure you give her a talking to about her seatbelt! it might have helped

well, as of tonight heres the word:

shes still not back from wherever she went. they couldnt do an MRI on her because of the respirator, they did the EKG, just to find out "no change". her husband is starting to tell people they might consider being sure they come in to say goodbye. of course, hes also the one that said, on the day it happened, that he didnt want her on life support. her family overruled him, i guess. did i mention she left him about a week before this happened? i think hes trying to get back at her . . ..

and on a brighter note, my grandmother is in the hospital as of tonight. she fell and broke her leg. shes going in for surgery some time tomorrow.

waiting for the third. they happen in three'*. i wish it were me in either position . . .. maybe the third will be me, eh.

its getting hard to be positive.

You gotta take the good news where ever you find it. Both of them are alive.

Maybe the next one will be a simple broken nail since the seem to be getting less severe each time.

Go keep Grandma company.
