That one is a 4.0 MP. The * series doesn't have manual exposure / aperture control though, that'* where the A series has its advantage.

www.dpreview.com is a great site but Sol already said that. I have alittle Canon Power Shot S500 5mp. I guess it'* a high end compact(if I can call it that) but Canon has come out with a new line. But for party pictures and the occasonial car pic and so on it works awesome plus some. About the size of a pack of smokes. I paid 425.00 about a year ago with after a $75 cupon for it (thanks for the cupon mom!) I'm not pro photog in any sense but I have mastered my little S500 and it takes great pics.

BTW: BIll I really like that tire pic & I love Full Throttle!

I just shot that tire pic yesterday morning for Mortehl to show him what tire siping looks like. I actually considered an uncropped 5mp pic in macro mode. But you can see the slits that were cut.

Yep. I can go from f/2.8 to f/8.0 with aperture, and 15 seconds to 1/2000 seconds for shutter speed. Manual focus as well - all button operated...

I take it back. The newer * series ones, like the S80 have manual control. And take AMAZING photos for a PS.

But does it have the live histogram to help you choose the aperture setting?

That'* what sold me on the Sony. Besides the monstrous LCD and a visible viewfinder. It'* not common to see both on a camera.

In my JROTC, we use a Cybershot 5.1, and it'* ok.

I personally use a Kodak Easy Share (can't think of the #) and I love it.
