My girlfriend has one of the same vintage as yours with the 3.1 and supposedly hers will run about 120, and was still going, I wasnt there to see it, but it doesnt surprise me, the older cars werent as strictly governed as the newer ones.
It just pisses me off that my speedometer goes to 140, but I can only go about 112. The 140 is for the Autobahn Intrigues, so I guess GM was too lazy to make the Autobahn ones have a different instrument cluster...still just aint right though.
the question is- do mustangs go that fast without falling apart?
:P i went 152 on a local hwy here(late at night-roads were pretty much empty) with my old car. just to see how fast it could go, i was scared as hell that i would get caught. and i did(only goin 90, i slowed down thank gawd)

Now, Mustangs have better tires. But, it seems that this car was chipped to remove the limiter, and likely better "Z" rated tires were put on.
