I need some advice on a situation...

I don't know how you kept your cool, I woulda been kicking some *** if someone did that to my child. I would definetly be going to the cops. I'm sorry but he is a 5 year old child, and for an adult to do that is wrong on soooo many levels. "Mr. Smith" acted very unappropriatly and I wouldn't just let that go.

Tim, I'm sorry I don't know you or the Smiths real name or the cops would already be there. You don't intentionally hurt kids.

My 7yr old grandson enjoys rough housing (right Rob?) and about the only way he could hurt me is to land one on the jewels. I have a hard time justifying Joes behavior or later attitude. Wow - not even a "sorry, got outta hand... " I find that very disturbing and I would be puzzled too.

So let me point something not yet mentioned out to you. Should you fail to call the police and there is another incident; or someone else called the police; guess what you'll be doing for the next 3 to 5 years. Sadly this is not a joke. I have an older friend that went thru a simular situation and wound up on 3 yrs probation for endangering the welfare of a child and the kids he was trying to protect were taken away. I urge you to at least file a report at this point and spare yourself a possible nightmare.

Sounds like the Smiths are no longer good friends and Mr. Smith needs a lesson in behavior around children. I feel very angry and violent towards Mr. Smith after reading this....

I would probably be in a prison for a long time if I was in your shoes.

Hey guys... here'* a quick update.

I did file a complaint against Mr. "Smith" and he will be charged with:

Simple Assault
Making Terroristic Threats
Child abuse

The cops in my town were awesome. Thanks everyone for your advice

Tim

awesome, glad you followed through.
figures the cops would be cool about it,
beating up on kids most people frown on.
