Dog months? Or people months? So, my 12 year old (solar years) Golden should be able to hold it for...*three...carry the one*...DANG! He may never have to pee again.

Unfortunately that'* not going to happen. The old boy has Cushing'*, which brought on diabetis, which affected his hearing and eventually blinded him. Cushing'* will eventually take his life, nothing can be done about that. Throw in the hip problems typical with Golden Retrievers, and I don't know what keeps him going. I'd have thrown in the towel long ago if it were me.

Dakota never pooped or peed in the house, so I can't give you any advice on house training, other than have patience and persistance. Once your pup figures out that doing the business outside makes you happy, he'll be house trained. If, once he'* house trained, he has accidents, take him in for a vet visit. When Kota peed in the house twice in as many days, we new summat was up and took him in. That'* when we found out how sick he was.

Lol! There'* obviously a limit. It'* advice your vet will hand out to new puppy owners so they have reasonable expectations.
