Default I Love Small Towns

I love living in a small town. Andrew'* friends just showed up and they are all off riding their scooters down to the beach, and the best part is I don't have to go with him! Yes, small towns do have their drawbacks, like no shopping, and sometimes there is nothing to do, but for the most part we are really never bored. I feel so secure in knowing that my kids will come home at the end of the day, and will be safe. The biggest crime that took place here was a couple of guys came into town (on the bus) and robbed the drug store and the video store and then went to bar to wait for the next bus to come to town.......Darwin award winners :? There is one road in and one road out. It is so nice just to have the kids feel safe and secure, and know that they can just hop on their bikes and go somewhere.

hmm, yeah i guess i enjoy life living in a small town sometimes. The population here is 1,806, our town is right on a freeway, but has nothing like shopping or anything. We have another town nearby, it is a population of about roughly 6000 and it has MANY places to shop. All kinds of restaurants, and all that. But to get to the city with a population of 80,000 or more would have to be Green Bay (Packers) or Appleton which are both roughly 40-50 miles away. So yeah, it is nice being in a small town. I always enjoy it at night. When I can't hear...anything.

Thats gotta be nice to have your mind at ease all the time.
I honestly don't care where I'm at. I'm always preparing myself for the worst.

I went to high school in a town of about 1,000. The closest town of any size was 25 miles away, and only was 35,000 ppl. I have lived in a lot of different towns growing up though.

I live in Sioux Falls, SD now, and it only has about 120,000 or so... I like it here.

I live in a city of 100,000. I'm a born and raised city guy. Small towns are nice to go to on the weekends though, otherwise I go crazy out in the boonies.

Born and raised in a city of over 2.5 million - Canada'* largest.

I grew up in a very questionable area where shootings, gangs, and crime run rampant - and now, I'm in a working/middle-class block not even a kilometre from there. It'* very quiet here, even though it'* so close to the 'bad' area.

Wouldn't mind living on the outskirts and towns (Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville) that neighbour the city, just cause it'* a little more open.
