as soon as i saw that 238 i immediatly thought build a 302. build it and shove it in a vega. it'll rock.
as for the 383 bill. yes dodge has a stock 383. 383 is one of two never been offered popular Small block chevy sizes. it is created by using a standard (maybe .030 overbore) 350 block and a 400 crank, with the main journals ground down. minor notching of the pan rains to clear the counterweights and you've got a 383 stump puller. my favorite small block combo.
the other, but less common non-factory displacement is a stock bore 400 block with crank journal spacers and a 350 crank. this yeilds a high revving 377. perfect for big inch boosted setups.
do yer homework.
