Default I love craigslist.

Just was on it. Saw a free 283 Chevy V8. Told the roommate. 10 minutes later we were there, 30 minutes later it is sitting infront of the garage. More mayham to come in july and august

I think it was Buick that had a V8 that was smaller than the 283. 262?

yes, cause if I remember right you can bore out a 283 to be something larger (forget the size ) and gain more due to the lighter crank and stuff. But I am far from a muscle car expert so I could be way wrong.

Thom got the engine. Been looking for one cheap for a while. Only want it for the crank.

327 + 283 crank = 302 that will rev to 9000RPM

His impala has a 327 in it....

He'* looking for a 396 and a early 60'* 2 dr Chevy II....

Fun times...

Nice find... I cant believe some younger members dont remember the 283. It was Stock in my 57 Belair. It had a little sister, a 265 cu.in.
