I know a number of people that have had that surgery. It'* no fun to do it, but the results are usually very good.

Git er done!

I had a hernia operation when I was in my 20'*, everything went well except it really hurt when I tried to walk afterwards. They told me that the quicker I got up and started to walk the quicker my recovery. Obviously!

As for the car, it can wait, I've had a car sit for 18 years, and it was road worthy when I parked it. Now I have the attitude that there are other priorities.

Good luck with the surgery harofreak00

I am not worried about the surgery. I was completely at peace until I told my mom and my girlfriend. They were all freaking out, and I'm like, "what" This will be my 3rd surgery, I have had my tonsils out in 9th grade, and my appendix ruptured in 11th grade.
It'* interesting how emotions of those around us can change the mood of a situation. You were on the right track initially. This really isn't a big deal and there is no need to lose your mind over it. Understanding is half the battle and it seems that you've done some research.

If you're a smoker, I'd suggest looking at alternatives now. There are risks associated with smoking and surgery apart from the obvious health hazards. Stopping even a short time before surgery can have significant benefits.

Bottom line, don't let yourself get worked up. As others have mentioned, your car will still be there. Your health and well-being should always come first.

I had a bilateral inguinal hernia when I was 4, and had my appendix removed when I was 5.

I'd rather have a hernia surgery than the one I have been putting off for 6 years. :?

Good luck Andrew, you'll do fine. It'* especially unfortunate that it'* happening when you're moving.
