That which you are describing about your good friend is very likely side effects or dosage issues with his med. But, It very remotely could be symptoms of something more serious developing. On his own, or as a result of the meds.
You might want to mention to him that he says or does things that are "unusual" for him. The issue here is that he and/or his family and doctor might not be aware that this is happening.
You might not get the best response for this, but right now an objective friend is his best asset. You would be amazed how hard a people will cover to seem "better" for the family and doctor. Just so they won't be upset or worry about him. He doesn't want them to hurt because of him.
I'll shutup now.

If you get to the botoom of the page, there is more information regarding ADHD for those interested.
I have to disagree with some opinions about "meds" because if you truly understand ADHD, you will find different types and different treatment options. Not everyone with ADHD will be treated with medication

That is funny. Really. One time I was having a real real bad day. I thougt I would count the times I was distracted in an hour ( so stupid ). Man this lame. So lame. I counted, 59 stinkin times. I had to abandon anything I got from that because the whole thing became a distraction. Uhg.
When Im in a restaurant. Or a place that has lots of people. I have to pay close attention to the people around me. If I don't, I totally loose them ( conversation wise.) I hear almost every table around me and any noises from machines or some stupid noise no one else hears until I point it out. I have actually had to leave some get togethers because I couldnt intergrate the stuff going on around me. Some people say thats not ADD but there is more to it than that.
Need to put the kidos to bed. More later. Can't pay attention this long. ( Thats a joke)

Wow, we should start are own forum... I was hyper active, couldn't sit still at the age of 9. Was put on Ritalin for about 1.5 years. Put into 7 different foster homes, 2 detention centers until the age of 17. My junior and senior years I finally calmed down and joined the Army where I was able to focus my energy into something constructive. Now, almost 10 years later. I'm calm, but still get the jitters. No medication at all. My 5 year old son was diagnosed with ADD 2 years ago. He'* on Amphetimine which was upgraded from 5mg to 10mg last month. Still doesn't really help him. I try to get him outside and do things with him as much as I can, but sometimes he gets real emotional. Cries at the littlest things. If he has been off of it for a day or 2, he'* fine. Then their are the days when he hasn't taken it and he'* stubborn. Spitting image of me!
