Default How to SeaFoam your mother'* Taurus in 40 easy steps.

ever wondered how to seafoam your mothers car? this is what you do:

1. Nag her for 3 weeks to get the "miracle in a can"
2. Go to store with her to make sure she gets the right stuff <along with 2 quarts of PS Fluid for the tempo, that oughta last a week>
3. go home
4. note wind direction, so you can observe smoke later
5. look for appropriate vacuum line to stick in can
6. burn fingers and hands on everything on the way down to retrieve end of appropriate vacuum line
7. start car, and listen to it complain about having a large vacuum leak
8. rev engine, and hold <while burning yourself on the hot throttle attachment location
9. stick vacuum hose in full can and try and keep car running
10. brace yourself for a large cloud of smoke
11. wait until can almost empty, and let off throttle, allowing car to stall
12. look around for the cloud of smoke that was supposed to kill you but didnt
13. observe your neighbors house engulfed in smoke, and hope they dont plan on walking outside in the next week or so
14. go inside, watch tv
15. forget about needing to run car
16. remember about car 45 minutes later, and tell your mom you are going to go blow the engine out real quick
17. take another 15 minutes explaining the process of blowing out the engine
18. add 5 minutes of convincing your mother that you need to be the one to blow the engine out, because you know she is too chicken to run WOT like one would need to
19. convince her that it wont blow her engine because it is govorned so heavily, it aint funny <and you run WOT all the time, but you dont mention that part> and cant possibly blow itself up
20. spend your final 5 minutes at home telling her that you will be careful, wont wreck the car, and wont get a ticket
21. get in car, and start
22. observe monster clout of smoke in mirror
23. wait for traffic to clear, then smoke the noteably impatient person behind you <whom also has their windows down>
24. catch every red light on the way to the interstate, using every chance you get to gun cause its fun
25. get on interstate
26. wait patiently to clear the onramp so you can pass the big rig in a big cloud of smoke
27. shift car out of overdrive to enhance blowing out experience
28. get off on next exit and get back on the interstate going the opposite way
29. get off on next exit, then get right back on interstate
30. when speed limit goes up to 75 MPH, open up to 80 mph, still remaining out of overdrive
31. floor it up the big hill, backing off at 85, getting back on it at 70
32. take next exit
33. get back on interstate going opposite direction now
34. maintain WOT from 0 - peg <if conditions permit>
35. back off, set the cruise at 79 mph
36. shift into overdrive
37. drive back to town knowing that you have just blown all of the carbon out of the engine
38. when speed limit drops to 65 mph, slow down to 70 mph
39. pound on dash to wake up speedo that still reads 80 mph
40. go home, knowing that carbon will never haunt you again, for now

That sounds like a really fun thing to do to somebody else'* car...

Doesn't all of that crap getting blown out end up in the cat? I'm just wondering, having never done this before.

well, seafoam is "safe for cat converters and o2 sensors"

too bad they dont tell you that what you clean out of your engine isnt.

anyway, i hate this car <mom aint too fond of it either>, and wish it would die, so i dont car it the cats get clogged or not. just has to last about another month or so, until i can get a new cat in the tempo, then it can die <and i hope it does >

hah. I'm too afraid to use it in a vacuum line on the Sable. I just put an entire can in a 1/4 full gas tank. That car hasn't seen WOT in over six years. I don't think my grandpa ever took it over 1/4 throttle actually.. it smoked with no cleaner when I just went half throttle!
