how to Run Unbutu on a VM
C/P From another forum I belong to
What you are going to do is run a Linux based OS in a virtual box on your computer.
Download Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit iso (600 megs) (place it where you can find it like the desktop or my docs)
Download virtual box 3.2.12 for your OS (windows , Mac etc)
Install virtual box with fixed or dynamic sizing
Select amount of ram to use
Once installed select new
Select new linux/ubuntu OS
Show the software where the linux iso is (desktop) (click "add" and browse to file)
Once your new OS is set up and working, click start, then take a snapshot of it.
Now surf the internet without getting infected and if it gets messed up just restore from snapshot or delete the machine and create a new one.

You can also put that disk in while windows is running, when the prompt pops up, choose install inside windows. It will make a image file on disk and install ubuntu there, that way you do not have to partition your windows hdd.
