I love REAL hummers, but the H2 is just a tahoe with a powerwheels body, not even capable of real offroading, u kno they were considering a recall cuz alot of them have had wheels fall off

I didn't vote, because they do raise factual points, but I think that they are mad because they can't afford one to drive around, and their girlfriends left them for someone who has one.
As for having a Tahoe chassis, GM is laughing all the way to the bank because platform costs are so low due to platform sharing (Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade, Hummer, Suburban, etc.)
The Hummer doesn't have to meet regulations, but this is based on a 1970'* era law for medium duty trucks and the like.
I won't get into the blood-for-oil discussion......Hooyah to the military and GW!
As for pollution, I know it pollutes less than those VW buses that the people who moderate this site probably drive.
The H2 is not a death trap....just whatever collides with it. However, if you pay attention to what you are doing while driving, I bet you can avoid any collision with this vehicle (or any for that matter).
And that tax loophole that they talk about is going away soon.....and I think that it is funny that the people giving are giving the H2 the bird from behind, far from the view of the driver.
That said.......I want an H1......so I can do some serious off-roading!

In some places the drivers want their cars to bring them from point A to point B. And besides that, they want their cars to last long.
In my country having 4x4 was a NEED, since most of the roads were not paved correctly. The ones leading to the villages on the mountains were not paved at all. So we used Asian and Eastern European (Soviet) trucks. They were not as big and luxurius as the Hummer, but they were pretty powerful. Most of them ran on petroleum.
What I'm saying is that this is a situation where you need off-roading 24-7, not just for 2 hours of fun.
If you buy a hummer, congratulations to you. But do you really need that kind of the vehicle to go shopping or go to school.
Come to think of it, ... How come residents of America don't buy Freightleiners and Peterbilts for personal use?

ireli, the problem is that the H2 is no mor capable of offroading than most cars, its basicly a minivan on steroid, yes it will handle bumpy roads better than a car, but they dont even have 10 inches of ground clearance, and considering the size of the thing, 10 inches is nothing, the real hummer has 18 inches, and the body is lower and wider so as not to flip over. I saw an H2 get stuck on a stump, yes, a stump, not even it'* awd cud get it off that stump, it had to get pulled off the stump by a jeep CJ, you need offroad capable? get a jeep, you need to fit alot of ppl? get a minivan, you need alot of storage? get a pickup or a van, there is no practical use for an H2
