Werd, my roommate in college had a 87 or 88 Nova that he used when his 96 Camaro SS was up for the winter. Nice little car for what it is. His was Auto tho.

Jay[/quoteThing was pretty fast, and it doesn't sound like it should? Been in our family all our life, and it'* been pretty reliable. We just wanted a runner when we got it, and it'* done it'* job fine. Sure i mangled the front in an accident, but it'* still a hoot to drive. It'* no bonnie though...

He just traded his in on a *-10, it had 92k on it then. He got it with 40 something on it. From what I remember for what the car was it would go, but no barn burner.

The fun stops when you start bashing GM trucks (silverado SS) :?
Its deeper then performance or they would have put a supercharged HO 8.1L in there.... Dont you think? Its a special edition because the Short box/Crew cab/LT/1500 is the veriation that GM has sold the most of sense about 1993... That would Equal... 10 Years... Thats a good date to make a special edition... I'm sure as **** that GM will make a 2 door base model silverado with a high output engine cheaper then the dodge.

Whats wrong with Isuzu?? They build good engines... oh and the duramax.

Qoute from http://duramaxdiesel.com/01_features/sub01.htm
Manufactured in the United States, Isuzu was chosen because of their design expertise, production capability and performance record for building high quality products. Isuzu is a world leader in diesel engine design and development, and has produced more than 13 million diesel engines in the past six decades.
(Yes I agree the base model intieror is crap on the colorado!... but whats a base model worth? 3,000 more then a caviler!! Its not a BENTLY --SORRY)

SSR= a little fun truck... Nothing more... Think of it as NOTHING more...
You wanna go spin your tires? then go drive on some ice...

GTO. You guys like it, and I do too, But on the other end(people who bought C5s). They dont like it because they dont want any GM product to get there engine...

Well the C5'* are being outdone this summer anyways by the C6. The LS1 and LS6 can do very nice in a new F body once the vette'* been upgraded, which will make ford bring back some iteration of the 5.0 most likely....

The new Silverado SS isn't bad, it'* a fast truck for sure, and they're very close to the Other speed trucks but they didn't have to go overboard on the engine. It'* the begining, i'm sure the SS will become sickly powered soon enough.... I

The SSR is a mid life crisis vehicle, just like the prowler etc, because they want a car that'* fun like Tofu said, not just crazy performance. I loved the prowler BTW.....

couldnt resist..

Why does a 2,900-32,000 lb car need rear discs? 78% of the braking is at the front. The malibu comes standerd with ABS, the Camry doesnt.
A disc brake with a park brake assembly is worth a pretty penny, even to GM. I'm not sure if you know this but, GM is around to make money, and they did alot of it with those cav./sunflowers...

I could resist but i knew someone else would come in...
I've also heard that drums are better at being a parking brake, specially on hills, from a couple of sources. I don't mind having drums that much. I don't need discs to impress others.

If ya need the look, you could always get those fake discs they sell in the rice section of the parts store. Problem is, they cost like 70 bucks fo a couple of pie tins you bolt between the drum and the wheel...

Cars with rear discs have a better brake pedal feel to them. It is a preference if mine and something I perfer in a car. My Trans Am has discs and it only weighs 3,277. I love pedal feel it gives. Cars with discs also stop better, or they wouldn't be a 'better' system.

I dont want ABS or Traction Control on any car I own. I turn the T/C off on my SSEi befor it goes in drive. I disconnected the ABS in my truck, I could not stand it.

I do know that, I am an engineer who gets reminded everyday by my employer that they are there to make money...

Back to the ABS as standard on GM cars. I wish they would stop putting OnStar in everything. Why cant they make the car prewired from the factory and make it a dealer installed option. If I buy a higher end car I have to pay for a unnecessary feature that I dont want. Needs to be optional.
