Remote start is worth its weight in gold though

I couldn't agree more. My century had an aftermarket unit, and I was excited when I saw that the allure has it too. It also has heated cloth seats, which is pretty awesome too.

Guess I am old school. I would prefer a block heater over remote start. May not help when one can't plug in, or keep the car toasty when you get in it, but overall block heater is a very good thing.

Block heater plus little electric heater inside car=toasty preheated car in the morning. I use to do it at Ft Drum when temps would get -50.

so now that its been so cold my furnace fan has been running pretty much constantly for the last few weeks especially when im running the wood furnace. so with my luck being what it is yesterday at noonish i heard the thing get noticeably louder and then stop. great. i went down and soaked the squirrel fan in wd40, loosened the belt and took the filters out hoping it would last till i could get new parts. well that made it till this morning and it was still working but as loud as it was yesterday before it stopped. my inlaws had a good spare one that was a bit bigger but i made that work, bowed out the door a little but better than trying to find parts on a sunday in the middle of nowhere with no heat in the house. i have a oil and wood furnace but both use the same ducts and fan. seems to work so far and hopefully can find something this week after work or something. fun cause the wind chills are in the -20 range over night and will be the next few nights

Run to the junkyard and get a bunch of Bonneville squirrel fans.

I hear ya man, my cheap *** furnace can't keep up with temps that stay below 15 either. Sometimes I have to turn the stove on for a little bit.

not sure that would work, might be worth a try if it wasent to cold to go to the yard
