yes i did yes i can hear and feel the hrad drive power up but just cant be read on another pc.? any idea
does it power up, initialize, and settle down? Or does it power up, make a series of repetative clacks/slaps/odd noises, and power down.

I would copy off all data, put on cd/dvd/email/etc, then determine if drive is reusable.

you can send it to me and I will look at it for free also. just make sure it is in an anti-static bag, couple/three layers of bubble wrap or acceptable hd shipping box.

You actually need to plug in both cables on that enclosure to get the drive to work, Having only the USB plugged in is not enough to fully power the drive. I actually bought (and returned) that enclosure myself and it took me a little to figure out that step. Then I went to button it up and my drive was to thick ... "Works with all 2.5" drives up to 1Tb" -MY A$$ it does.

ps - I bought it at Circuit City for $4.99. I hope you didn't spend more for it than that. It has real lousy reviews; but for five bucks i figured its be good enough.

returned the mad dog mega vault and i got a NX nexxtech portable drive enclosure and plugged it in to my friends laptop (which i still have) and now my hard drive shows up and lets me view it.. it says it has 38 gb free space out of 94 gb but when i veiw the data on my bad hard drive it dont even show me more then 10 gb of files...?

it olny shows 40 out of my 8,000 songs and it dont show any of my pics....?

ok i can now view my info on my bad hard drive.. (i think its bad could be the ram)

is there any one that can help me by telling me what to do to see if my hard drive is bad or not and can also help me find my pics..? i would really appericate it.. thanks...
