Jim wouldn't ever get rid of you PJ. He likes to harass you too much You will be able to get a really nice car for around $9,000. You just have to figure out what you want and find it.

For 9,000, you could get a really nice Grand Prix GT or GTP.

Oh, I'd love one, but as you probably well know, insurance can be a killer.

Suprisingly, going from my 95 SSE to the 97 GTP only is about 100 bucks more a year.

I think I understand where PJ is coming from on this one. The Rora is nice to ride in (heated seats ), but I think smaller cars might generally be comfier to drive for those of us who aren't much more than five feet tall. I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions out there, but one of my main priorities is being able to see over the dash

While Miami makes a good point I like something mid size like my bonne because I spend most of my driving time on the highway doind at least 70 mph and I want something that will offer some protection in the event of an accident. I don't like little cars cuz other bigger cars would squish you like a bug. If she just drives locally and the speed limits are low then a small car wouldn't be so bad.

Really?? Hmmm...do you have full or PL/PD? I will definatly have to have a comparison drawn up. I would really like a GP but I thought it would be significant insurance wise.

I was originally going to get a Saturn SC2 (don't kill me people)...now THAT is a small car. I will actually be using the car that I purchase as a highway car because I will be traveling a lot going from school and back. I figure if I stay as big as a GA or Alero, I should be okay.

A friend let me drive her Grand Am a while ago. It wasn't a bad car at all. Had decent get-up-and-go and if you really pushed it, it could get out of it and everyone else'* way. Hers had a horrible rattle in the steering wheel when the engine was idle though. Felt like my hands were going numb. It was a nice car and I wouldn't mind owning one myself, but it would have to be the GT coupe with the SC/T package.
