I would definatly take it to a mechanic to get it checked out, especially if I knew of specific issues. The thing is, most every type of car is going to have lemons and every model has their issues. I'm more just worried if this one is any worse then all the rest of them.

IMO..stick to the trustworthy power plant of your gorgeous 94 Bonnie!

The 3100 and 3400 are just too risky. :?

It'* your choice Jeanie. I've driven 3100s and 3400s for years, and have never had a problem. My opinions are just based off of my experiences.

both are pretty good cars, exterior wise the Olds has an advantage, the GLS trim owns over the and GT'* w/o that nice little ram air hood, I'd say go for the GLS, or GT with the vented hood mounts insted of the norm GT.

best GLS colors too me are Bronze, Burgundy,Black, White, Drk Green, and br Red
best GT w/VH colors, Silver, Black, White, Orange, Red, and dr Green

Good luck!

my alero has the 3400, we bought the Extended warranty for another 3 years. I actually added 1 litre(quart) to the rad tank about 3 weeks ago, as it has been low since purchase. The level hasn't dropped yet, i have been keeping my eye on it, and oil condition, incase it suddenly develops this condition. My guess is, it is a fairly easy job to do on this motor.
