Well I'm glad you found a low milage car...
But I have my opinions... You went from a 3800 V6 In a good full sized sedan to a 3100 Regal.... Even with the miles this seems like trading down...
The 3100 even in 96 had some issues with piston slap and lifter chatter... These things shouldn't hurt longevity... But the intake gaskets will need to be changed... If they have not been changed, even at 44,000 miles I'll bet they look bad...
This car will have the 4T60-E 3.33 Trans...
If this car had the 3800 II it would have been worth every penny...
But being a W body I'm sure there is a loe that can be done to it...
Now, do we have any Pics of it? Show us the new ride

It was time for me to pull a practical joke so I saw perfect timing. The Regal is really a low mileage car and it'* been in the family since new, I pulled the plates off to help trick people. I said I traded it in because if I said I sold it, it would raise eyebrows. (thanks Pinky)
So in conclusion, GOTCHA, you're insane to think I would get rid of Bertha for this ugly duckling.

Cody, funny thing is the 3100 makes 160hp, when Ford'* sorry A$$ 3.0 only made 150 of the same year.

Ford'* "Sorry A$$" 3.0 makes more torque, and is FAR more reliable than the 3100, which imho is the worst engine ever created.
I'd take a vulcan over a rattling, intake and head gasket blowing 3100 anyday lol.
