x2, what do you need 2,000,000 megabytes of storage for Bill?

Do you really need to ask? Come on, a guy with that much storage potential only means one thing.

BTW, how are you setting those up Bill? RAID? Personal Multimedia Center server, extra storage on current computer?
Personally, I'd use those on a computer next to the big screen tv. Talk about having Netflix and Blockbuster right in your own living room.

Well guys.. I have over 350gig of music. You name it, I usually have it. Then tuning bin files, software for tuning etc etc. Things add up. I was running 2 400gig drives in a raid array as striped. When the WD Raptor with my OS recently puked up a lung I took out the raid drives by mistake and then booted. See ya later data!!!!

Luckily my laptop is my primary tuning device and has all that tuning stuff saved. I have a couple externals that friends borrow from time to time with most of the music saved. Mostly I lost a bunch of pictures. Most of which are loaded to photobucket.

I decided that I would not again put all the eggs on a striped array. It'll be mirroring from now on. Space wise the 2 400 gig'* aren't going to cut it. What does a guy like me do? Not 2TB drives, not 1.5TB drives, but reasonably priced 1TB drives. Plus in reading up nothing over 1TB seems raid stable.

Here'* the current view of my desk
Upper left 2 120gig drives (removed and currently unwanted), lower left 2 1TB drives (about to go in), lower right 2 400 gig drives (current future unknown).

And the pc, the new Raptor is in there...as I'm posting from that pc.

And if that doesn't seem overkill enough for a machine that basically is used to surf. Here'* my current external collection. WD 1TB, Maxtor 300 gig, WD 750gig mybook, WD 500 gig passport.

Anyone wonder why the car is as crazy as it is?
