Mick was absolutely the best, and posting here gave me the opportunity to deal with my sadness. I appreciate having the opportunity to share my thoughts with so many people that understand are are respectful.

This was also a great opportunity for Katie, and was a great help for her. It was a tough thing to deal with today, breaking the news to her. Equally as hard as watching Mick go this morning.

Thanks again, all.

Godspeed! I hope you guys are feeling better. I know it'* hard for some people to over look the good times, and focus on the loss. Heck maybe you'll be inspired. There'* no reason an animal can't be loved and part of a family just like anyone else. Heck, i remember seeing that dog on your webcam all the time, he probably knows more about bonneville'* now then about everyone but you Bill! If he only knew the things he'* seen.

Something I saw this week

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but the moments that take them away."

I'm real sorry to hear that.
My dog, also named mick died almost exactly a year ago. He was a yellow lab and could make anyone fall in love with him. I grew up with that dog. So, i'm sure i know how you and your children feel. It'* definitely a long and hard process but, it'* nothing time won't heal. So hang in there.

RIP Mick

Bill, I'm a dog person and I feel for your familys loss.
I'm on my 4th german shepard, I've never known a time without a german shepard at my house. My folks have had them since before I was born. I've watched 3 of them pass on, one way before his time. Jim I know you mentioned you didn't understand the relationship people have with dogs..... Bill'* right... they are family members. I consider my dogs family. And in the dogs mind, you are his family. It'* the pack mentallity.

Again .... to the Wren family.... sorry for your loss. :(

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have 3 and one is getting up there. I don't look forward for that day, either.

I'm sorry for your loss, Bill. Dogs are the best. We have a cat, too, but, well, dogs are the best. And losing a good friend like Mick is so hard. Hang in there.
