Default Goodbye~OMG!!!

To my 94 Dodge Ram 3500/Laramie package/Cummins Diesel. It'* been my pride and joy since I bought it. 140,000 totally trouble free miles. Never stranded me and hauled my 32' Boat everywhere. I left it to get inspected awhile back and got the call today that it wont be getting a sticker. Shocks gone, rotors shot, caliper hung, rear bumper rusted out, bottom of right "hip" broke off, back drums shot. All this to repair plus the fact the the alternator'* been acting funny since the air conditioner siezed this summer, and a couple injector nozzles getting clogged. I've added it all up in my head and decided it'* time to shoot it. They die hard, but it seems everything has come apart at once.

Anybody need a "project truck"

LOL, I crying my heart out here Dan......

I swore I'd never get rid of this one and replacing it'* going to hurt alot. I cant get by downsizing, the boat weighs 8640 on the trailer and has a tongue weight that even made the 3500 pay attention. Stability wise I couldnt imagine towing it without dual wheels, or geting it out of the water. I've had to smoke them sticky a few times on steeper ramps.

Sounds like a case of neglect to me. OMG, how could I say that right?

You should feel a caliper pulling when it'* locked. The alt has been acting funny since summer, ahem. Shocks are shot, uh..yeah they have 140,000 miles on them. Rotors warped, see locked caliper mention. Right hip broken, what did you hit?

Overall I don't think the truck has failed you. Sounds like the poor thing fared pretty well through all your beating, neglect and torture.

Thanks for the opportunity to give you the trucks side of the relationship. Now, it'* looking for a new owner that will give it the occasional TLC it deserves. =0)

time to put 'duallies' on the back of the Bonneville and a serious tow hitch

north star wouldn't have a problem towing your big boat.

jk

sorry to hear you have to get rid of a faithful old ride.....

shocks and brakes aren't that expensive. idk about getting the hip fixed and a caliper isn't oo much either. as for the laternator, have it tested and check for loose wires. the injectors can be cleaned relatively easy. idk if i'd give up on it yet...

BillBoost,...ROFL! Ya, I have let things go and now everything it seems came back at once to byte me on the azz. 15 years/140K was a good trouble free run for the torture.

I thought about it all last night, priced new this AM and ended up taking it to a diesel shop. Their gonna poke around the engine and see just what needs to be done. Depending on what they come up with, I may just rebuild the rest of it. For the couple thousand to put it back in shape, I couldnt come near replacing it. Other than the hip I cracked on a tree going up my drive sideways, the truck is still sharp, inside and out.
