TL..if we laugh you are safe.
Gee John am I glad I didn't try to talk you into keeping the truck.
Maybe the alt was tied in somehow as well. The pcm might have had some programming that saw one thing and was told not to charge properly.

Point well taken. It just seemed like so much to fix and motor iffy, it ran so ragged. The feed pump in tank was seized, maybe that had something to do with the electrical. The cam on the injector pump worn out, injectors clogged, the seats to the injectors shot and dripping into the cylinders full time. Tech wonders how I got it to start. I told him it was a matter of starting it throughout the "wear" and knew just where to hold the peddle to get her to sputter, sputter, until it started. LOL Despite the money, the ride home on the highway and through the country has me tickled pink. I couldnt believe how well the tranny acted with the motor being able to it the shift points on que. Or the way the turbo is back to whining when you floor it.

BTW... my fee for convincing you to fix it up and keep the ole gal around (you old folks do stick together) is price of a new one less the repair costs, a full tank of fuel and a gallon of lavender paint for you to paint your bedroom. Mrs. Venom called..Lavender it is!

The bedroom was "offlimits" to her from the get go. It is a marbleized two tones of grey with trim accents of marbelized black and grey to match the raised "Captain'* Bed" done the same. It all has a similar pattern to the car. One of my middle sons is a painter and I payed him a good amount to do it all. Thinking about clear laquering it all for gloss someday.
