I seriously don't know how Kobalt failed so hard with the handles. Everything else on their boxes seem fine, but the handles are impossible to stay attached.
Spoken by someone who assembles (and re-assembles) Kobalt boxes for a living!

I don't see what the issue is? Every single product these days has some sort of flaw or design issue. It doesn't matter if its Kobalt, Craftsman, GM, Dodge, Ford, Littermaid or whatever. Thing is, they don't make things like they use to. This includes SnapOn. They are no different quality wise than anyone else.

The brand new Snap-On boxes that are out these days are BETTER than the old ones.

My step-dad has 4 tall double-bay boxes with top boxes. While great quality, they have gotten better.

I would normally agree with ya, but SnapOn boxes are tanks. And the handles falling off the Kobalt boxes aren't just a flaw, they're a serious issue. I mean I for one always use the handles on the drawers to get to my tools.

I wasn't aware of the handles having issues. But, I was simply looking at functionality between the two boxes.

i dont like lowes but even if the handles came off the HD, or sears ones i have which they dont, i can buy washers or weld different ones on for cheap. normal price for the snap on ones is twice as much. cant justify paying for the name and the truck and all the free hats

Which is why I love being a student and getting things for half price.

I think a tool box is the only thing I'd get through Snap-On.
