Oh, well jail breaking is completely untraceable. I've been doing it since the very first iPhone and they've always been under contract. If I ever needed work done on them I just load up iTunes and restore it back to factory.
It'* basically hacking the phone so you can do a lot more with it than if it was stock. You can change things right down to the message you get on the lock screen.
Jailbreaking and Unlocking the iPhone used to go hand-in-hand. Now, not so much.
I do it so the phone is more functional, and some of the UI customization is cool too.

i love my evo 4g lol. i can do all those things stock :P. only thing i wish i had that the iphone has is the siri thing. other than that the evo 4g and iphone 4 are about the same specs. (give or take a few things)
Honest question because I have only had one Android based phone and that was in 2010.

well, last i used was os3, but i can change my theme, pretty much how the phone works in general. you can even write your own theme code if you dont like the 1,000,000s other people have made lol. other than that, theyre pretty much the same. just less red tape and proprietary stuff like ios has. honestly when i got my phone, the only thing that sold me was the screen size and the 4g. they were all but identical otherwise.
