Default Glad I don't own my parnets minivan

they just spent 1200+ 97 dodge grand carvan with 130,000 on. IT has bad tire rods, needs new front tires, time chain cover is leaking coolant(don't understand that), engine is making tic sound(parnets says the it was the value make the sound that it was cynider is what the mechanic is say.
They new 05 grand carvan just the o2 sensor short out. It was cause the back tail lights not work. Wouldn't have believe if hadn't seen it
I don't understand dodge how they do thngs. Makes my glad I have a bonnieville. Just for the recorod 97 has 3.3l engine and 05 has 3.8l. The 05 motor is actual pretty nice motor drive.

Ooooook, well that was fun to read..

The ticking could be normal, probably loud fuel injectors, those are common with Chryslers. My engine ticks too. Could be something else I suppose. Even some GM engines have a normal ticking or 'tapping' from lifters. The other problems you describe, well, could be normal due to age. I'm surprised you didn't mention anything wrong with the transmission

Chrysler engines tick, especially the 2.4L engines from 1994-2002. IE. Intrepids, Caravans, etc. They tick cause they are planning on commiting suicide just for you. I know several folks who had Intrepids -- changed oil every 3k miles, engines blew all around 50-60k from sludeg buildup.

yeah, them tranny'* dont stick around and chat very long. our dodge family has treated us well when we had them until either a head gasket blew <1985 caravan>, got ahold of by my uncle <1977 dart>, or got flipped in the boonies <1984 E-class>.

good luck, im happy with my car too.

It was timing chain wear the noise was coming from. they replace the water pump, two tires, left front tie rod,pvc value and hose to air box, and muffler. Then i waxed it today and upon waxing found that the back brakes were bad. So I do that it had disc brakes not drums a hate drums.

Well I still remember when we had our 1986 Plymouth Voyager with the 3.3L V-6 the problem with that one was the head gaskets were gone around 80,000 miles and then our 1992 Dodge Caravan with the little 4 banger the tranny was slipping when we sold it and I think it had 130,000 miles when we sold it.
