Yuck...i HATE the "cute" thing...you know, Toyota Echos and Honda Civics and the whole shibang...

I don't know about your fiance, but usually you can't "make" someone do anything. Like, if Murdock told me to pick between him and a Grand Prix..hehe...he'd either be living in the Grand Prix or i would be walking back and forth to work.
You could always pull up some safety ratings...never looked @ them for the tiburon, but i seem to remember a cop saying at my dad'* friends' accident (he t-boned a car) that tiburons have one of the best side impact safety ratings. Don't know how true it is...inclined to doubt...
Tell her they are cheap tin cans that fall apart fast :o

SSsuperchargedEi>> Couldn't put up with that...I had an ex bf who used to be right into the Rustangs and i used to always poke and prod him to get a bonneville because the stupid things always broke down and smelt and folded like organs. Hey, he'* an ex, right?

Yes, they are expensive at purchase, because they hold their value....its one of the things about VW that most mainstream cars don't have

There'* nothing wrong with going Japanese

Something reasonably sized, reliable, and reasonable sporty should do. I personally wouldn't trust anything other than a 3800 when it comes to GM'* cars, so uh, um, yeah

Yea but there are people on this site that are all bout "Made in the USA" when it comes to cars. But the or 80% of things they buy are made in a different country

I could care less where something was made. As long as it'* reasonably priced, holds it'* value and doesnt break apart, I'll be content.
Let her buy something she wants, and if it falls apart or is crap it'* her fault. Do some research on what she wants before buying and if you like what it says go for it.

My wife is dead set on getting a lime green New Beetle with cream leather interior. I told her as long as it'* the turbo model, heheh, and they rated excellent in crash tests. I was amazed... ...So, I wouldn't mind if she got one...
