An ex-girlfriend and I had an apartment in Pensacola FL. For a while, her older daughter would not go to sleep at night because she "saw and heard things that scared her". Keep in mind this kid was 10 at the time and had attention issues....like a young Brit Spears, but much uglier
Anyways, it got to the point that she would only sleep on the couch in the living room. A few days after that, her mom would have to go to sleep with her out in the living room. It finally came out that she thought she saw ghosts and could hear voices. So, before jumping to conclusions, we borrowed our neighbors Sony camcorder with night vision, and set it up in the kitchen, pointing towards the main hallway, and a hall closet that was open, full frontal towards the camera. We set the camera to go LP so it would catch about 4 hours in the dark, and went to sleep.
Woke up early in the morning, checked the tape. For the first few hours, nothing was showing up. An orb was thought to have been caught, but I zoomed in on it and it was a bug of some sort. But what was freaking us out....was the closet. A face materialised in the closet...an evil looking face.
We got the hell out of that apartment and moved to Daytona in two days.

I've never experienced any actual hauntings (some things that I speculated about, but nothing that was actual). I don't believe in literal spirits, so I'm a no.

When I was a kid, we lived in a small town up in NE South Dakota, my Dad was the Baptist pastor there. I used to have piano lessons, and the only piano around was at the church. I would sometimes have to go there by myself to practice. This church was well over 100 years old. Anyways, I'd hear a lot of f'd up shat when I would be practicing. Many times I'd go there, play for a few minutes, and get the hell out of there. Here noises like foot steps, stuff behind my back. My Dad also came home spooked a few times because he thought he heard some people talking, but no one was there.
Later, there was a girl that would clean the church every Monday. She would come in and clean all day and go home. Well, one time a few of us were there, and we went upstairs above the sanctuary and the janitor just starts freaking out and screaming. She goes running down the stairs, and she was balling like crazy. We asked what was wrong, and she said when she opened the doors upstairs she could see a figure in front of her. And, when she opened the door she said it looked like it jumped and RAN THROUGH HER to get out the door she was going in. She said it felt like a freezing cold breeze passing through her. She quit her job shortly there after because she was too scared to be in the church alone...

I don't personally believe in it, but I do tend to scare myself anytime i am alone. That being said, I have no evidence, and in that case, no intention to finding out. I would rather be left without knowing than have a frightening encounter that would leave me sleepless.

The first house I bought came with a ghost. He used to take stuff. He'd put it back when I asked him to though.
I never seen him, but felt him touch me a few times. My grandfather, and an uncle actually seen him through the window while they were walking up towards the front door. My wife could feel him watching her while she was cooking. (other times too, which creeped her out a bit.)
My current wife is sure there is a ghost where she works. He followed her home one day and I am sure he came to work with me the next day. He smelled like pipe tobbacco.

I believe in all the stuff that people don't want to believe in (not just ghosts) I'm part of a group here in Winnipeg called the W.G.T. (Winnipeg ghost trackers) on meetup.com
