that looks like an adapter to take one legacy connector and make it power 2 SATA drives.

the ends of the black portion should look somewhat like a long "L", they have a notch in one end.

that adapter isnt necessary unless you plan on having a RAID setup, all it will do is clutter up the inside more.

yup, if you don't need it, leave it out. There is no benefit for it in your situation. Only a down side, more clutter and an extra connection.

this is the order of what'* best..
PCI<AGP<PCI Express.

That graphics card was made for the best of the type of slots. Which one was cheaper? There really is no way to make that card work with that mother board though.. I'd upgrade the motherboard.

did some research at two local computer stores today and found out that basically nobody makes AMD chips with PCI-express slots...

so i just made it easy on myself and downgraded video cards cuz i want this thing NOW

i got the ATI RADEON 9550 256MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card from bestbuy for $79.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814142026

built the system tonight and was getting SUPER frustrated with the SATA drivers not working...

BUT...

Boreas worked me through it... and im in the process of installing windows right now...

i cant say thanks enough to him...

glad to hear you got it working.

PS. I know there'* a lot of boards out there that support AMD and have PCI express. I have one of them.
