wait why are you ordering a SATA drive when your motherboard does not support sata????
I believe it supports serial ATA

Some information I found while googling.

serial protocols like SATA use 10b8b encoding so every byte transfered on the line consists of 10 bits, not 8. After decoding the channel can provide a hypothetical 300MB/* or 150MB/* transfer rate depending on the SATA generation used. The raw speed though is 3.0 Gb/* or 1.5Gb/*.
Some other remarks indicate that SATA 300 is overkill and that hypothetically although the interface supports it the drive can't transfer that quickly!

Thus, you should be pretty good with SATA-150

I've been pricing out buliding a new pc for myself also. If I could suggest a AMD 64 Chip for $10 more (for the AMD 64 3000+) or $30 more (for the AMD 64 3200+) on tigerdirect'* website. For the small price the performance increase over the plain 3000+ would be huge. & a decent mobo could be had for little over 100.

{edit} it looks like you already have a motherboard; never mind.
