My personal opinion, the G8 is between a GP and Bonneville, just like a G6 is between a GP and a Grand Am. Pontiac kinda left the GA segment, which I think was a bad idea. The GA sold like hot cakes. Saying the G8 can't be the new Bonneville because it'* been gone for two years, I don't agree with. Lots of cars have been discontinued, then brought back later, if not under the same name. And if the G8 was meant to be a direct GP replacement, why sell it at the same time in 08, and why price it more in the Bonneville area?

Personally I would take a G8 over any and all models of the bonneville. Pontiac does not say the G8 replaces the bonneville btw. MOST of you so called Bonneville loyalists bought your cars used not new. GM wants more people to buy the G8 NEW. If that happens the G8 will be successful.

Anyway this is a Bonneville forum and with the Bonneville DEAD I guess you need something to keep the spirit whatever.

It'* not that we don't WANT a new car.... more that many people can't afford a car payment + insurance payment that is as much or more then their house payment
Believe me, if I had the money, I would be having a brand new car for sure But I just can't justify spending that much money on a car when I can buy it used ( and actually afford it ) a few years later for $10,000 + less then the original sticker price.

If you are going to argue whats true or not. Then go find some GM news reports about it and then we will all know the truth
I like the G8.
Its still lacking a lot of what the Bonneville had.... IE... No HUD
I really dont get why like no one ever puts them in cars. :?

It is getting pretty hot in here.... I can feel alot of tension.
lets cool it down so this topic doesn't get
There is no need to argue here.... many people will have different perceptions on what a new car is and is supposed to be.
