Default friends accident plus three pics

so my friends car got hit. the one who just bought a 2005 Malibu Maxx three months ago.

story: him (chris) and another of my friends (aaron) were at one of their friend'* houses recording music. they heard a loud crash outside, one guy even had the headphones on playing guitar quite loudly, heard the crash easily (through the studio headphones). they ran outside to see what was going on. as they ran out, they saw a civic drive off with rear end damage. one of the neighbors was standing outside and saw it happened, chris looked over to they neighbor and quickly asked "did he just hit my car??!" the neighbor confirmed it, so chris and aaron jumped into aarons car (a cavalier, if youre wondering) and took off after him. down the street around a corner, they came up on the civic and another car -- both stopped by a cop. chris got out of the cavalier and walked up to the cop. he said "officer, that guy just hit my car." apparently, the cop stopped a civic (the car that incidentally hit chris'* car) for running a stop sign. lucky break for chris. the officer had no clue about the collision, as hed only witnessed them running a stop sign. lucky for the driver (who was a 16 yr old male who had his license for roughly 3 months), because if chris and aaron had caught up with him chris very likely would have been brought up on charges.

apparently, for some reason the civic had been going roughly 40 mph BACKWARD down the road and swerved into chris'* car (maybe trying to get into a driveway, who knows). put it in drive and took off. so anyway, heres a couple pics to show the extent of the damage.

notice the lack of skidmarks . . . wow.

hes waiting to hear from insurance, but he had GAP insurance and it was very clearly the civics fault. so hes sitting pretty with a rented vehicle (billed to the other guys insurance), and if his car is totalled, it gets paid off completely, even though hes upside down. hes hoping its totalled so he can get a grand prix or a bonneville.

oh, if you want to see the other car or closer shots of the tire, heres the link:

oh, i forgot to mention. the civic guy got three citations.

leaving the scene of an accident
failure to stop at a stop sign (hah)
wreckless driving (a little ironic, because it did cause a wreck)

and one im adding just for kicks:
being a moron.

Right!

That'* probably not enough to total a brand new MAXX, but it'* plenty of damage for sure. Makes my parking lot damage look like nothing in comparison.

Good thing your friend had good insurance. He won't regret that.

Unfortunately being a moron is NOT a ticketable offense.

The kid needs his license pulled until he/she is 18. maybe they would learn that a car is not a toy
