Default Fords to get dual turbos?

BorgWarner Will Turbocharge Ford EcoBoost Engines for Rear-Wheel Drive Cars and Pickup Trucks
BorgWarner Turbos Will Increase Efficiency of New Eco-Friendly Engine, Helping Drivers Enjoy More Miles to the Gallon
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- BorgWarner will supply turbochargers for rear-wheel drive cars and pickup trucks featuring Ford'* upcoming EcoBoost engine, a downsized gasoline direct-injection engine with dual turbochargers. The combination of turbo power and gasoline direct injection means the 3.5-liter V6 engine will perform like a V8, but with an increase in fuel economy of up to 20% and a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 15%. The technology offers consumers real-world benefits in a variety of affordable cars and trucks.

I would have sworn I read that Ford cancelled that project... But that'* good! I really can't wait to see this engine in person. I wouldn't buy one, because I know that it'* probably going to be an unreliable POS(), but it'* still pretty cool technology

I have never had real reliability issues with any ford engine but the 3.8

the 2.3 turbos were known to fail, but most ford (not mazda) engines are fairly good engines

This isn't a 5.4 SOHC engine, this is a Direct Injected Turbo engine. Talk about a lot more complicated. I'm not saying that Ford makes bad engines, some of their engines are really good, but I just can't see them pulling this one off... But we'll see

Well, I have a whole fleet of Ford POS E-450 Turbo Diesel trucks to unload for anyone who'* interested. These have been the most unreliable, wallet emptying piles of junk we've ever seen. These have been in the shop more than on the road. Our Ford dealer loves us. We do nothing but shovel money through their front door! I'd walk a mile in a blizzard before I'd ever buy a Ford... probably because I'd be walking that mile anyway.

I forgot about the PowerStroke 6.0 Diesel How much you want to unload them for? My uncle runs a construction business and he is always looking for work trucks for various state and govt projects?

Yeah the 5.4 sohc 4.6 Dohc/Sohc and the sohc 4.0 plus the 3.0 vulcan have all been pretty reliable for me. Direct injection seems to be the new great engine improvement along with VVT or my BMWs double Vanos???
