My paypal account was broken in to. It is tied directly to my checking account, so all of these sucked about $400 out of my account. Whoever broke into my account attempt about 50 more and my bank charged me a $36 non-sufficient funds fee for each one....TWICE. My checking account was at around -$3,600 for a month while the bank and paypal sorted it out. It sucked...I had to borrow money from my dad for a month. :(

WOW crappy. I noticed 4 overdraft charges on our account yesterday, OUCH where the hell did that come from....we allegedly had overdraft protection hooked up to one of our wellsfargo cards. Well, when we did a lost/stolen on the original card, the clerk never hooked it up to our new one.
So, I asked very nicely and explained, the girl saw the mistake so then all 4 fees where reversed.
As a former Customer Service Rep for USBank, all the advice I can give is do NOT be an asshat. YOU overdrew your account, not the rep you will be talking to. Also, they do not make the policy or the decisions, so being rude/belligerent to them will not get you anywhere. But realistically, the bank isnt in the wrong here. It sucks, but thats how it goes...

A good while back I used to deal with what was First Union Bank ... They sucked..
I had put $600 in the Bank at 8am Friday morning... According to their Policy if you put the money in the bank before a certain time in the morning it would be there 2pm that day, 8am is when they open... Over the weekend I wrote out a couple of checks, thinking I had $600 in the account.. Wednesday I get 3 OD'* from the bank...
I went down to the bank and I wasn't happy.. I asked why I had 3 OD'*... They stated that I didn't have any money in the bank.. I asked how much is there or was there before the OD'*.. They told me $2 ... I told them how funny it was that I put $600 in the bank first thing Friday morning... They told me that I didn't... At this point I was furious... I showed them the receipt and they said the money wasn't there.. Keep in mind its Wednesday afternoon.. I demanded for them to find my money and get the manager out here.. They got the manager.. We talked for a few minutes.. It turned out they never entered my deposit into the system... But they found the deposit slip and the check.. I then had them reverse the OD'*... I then withdrew every penny form the account and closed it out.. Went to the credit union that gave me the loans on both of my cars and opened a checking account with them.. I have dealt with them for the last 9 years without a single issue.. No mistakes...
I'm glad I found a good bank to deal with.. And I have a series of ATM'* locally that I can use that doesn't cost me anything...
I believe that first union is now Wachovia

If anything can **** me off, it'* the big guy with the money trying to skin the little guy. Central State Bank here in Muscatine skinned me for more than I care to think of. I'm to the point that I don't take that crap from anyone. Especially when I'm holding the thing they want.... cash. Just had a big bitch fit with the only company that can supply natural gas over $15 they tried billing me because they had a glitch. If it weren't for this damn house I bought, I'd drop my account with the local credit union and carry nothing but cash.

After getting overdraft fees for the bank depositing money in the wrong account three times, I closed out my checking account and now have only a savings account. I pay for everything with cash or cashier'* checks anymore. I have a credit card, but all I use it for is if i need to rent a hotel room, order something online, or anything of the like. It'* a hassle, but i have learned to live with it.

I so have to post on this, why, because it'* wellsfargo. Your not alone as far as that joke of a bank goes. Heres my story
My wife calls, asks how much my check was, I told her, she said we're over drawn. Cant be I said. Went online, shure enough, we were. Damn I was pissed, over $1000 OD. We need food, darn, get a Payday loan, were desporate. I'll figure it out, it'* late Friday, no time to deal with it now.
Next day, my wife says, why did those 2 checks go threw twice? shrug, no idea. Call my bank, garanty bank, I say why twice? They say, yep, it went threw twice, that shoudl not have happened. The second time it went threw it was returned but caused our account to go in to overdraft, which caused a chain reaction. They said the checks were covered, so no problems. A week later the school who the checks were to called, pissed because our checks bounced and we have to cover them, as well as the returned check fees. I said no, those were paid, you have the money. So I call my bank, they say the same thing, they were covered. After 2 weeks of arguing I'm pissed, and still out several hundered dollars. Everything is thrown in my lap to fix, spent hours on phone, drove all over picking up and dropping off stuff. Finally, Wellsfargo calls me up, and asks me about the school, I'm like, there your client, why are you asking me? Now I'm totally pissed! They still claim they do NOT have the money and it'* all my fault. A few days later wellsfargo calls again. We found the money, we had it all along, sorry. We lost a bag of checks $92,000 worth. Oh really? I said we demand a written appoligy letter and we demand financial compensation for the money we are out. He said he didn't need to write us a letter he said sorry on the phone, not good enough I said. I'm out cash. Not our problem he said. I said if I bounce a check I pay teh fine, but you mess up you need only say sorry? so next time I bounce a check I only need to come down and say sorry and all is forgiven? I then told him he can write teh letter or deal with my wife, and he'* better off dealing with me. he said she has my number. Ok, I hung up, called my wife. She said screw him, she called the pres. of the bank. A week later we got a letter, and a check covering our cost. Got to love banks. Our bank did a great job, wellsfargo, were a$$holes.
