Default Ford Boy VS Wells Fargo Bank

Round 1 <Ding! Ding!>

went to pull money from an atm, only to find i was $100 short. so i print up one of them statements on the atm <worth $1 in a pinch imo>, and found this:

02/06/07 POS PURCHASE - WAL-MART #5155 WAL-MART #LAS CRUCES ( NM $173.99
02/06/07 POS PURCHASE - PAYLESS SHOESOUPAYLESS SHLAS CRUCES NM $26.77
02/06/07 CHECK CRD PURCHASE 02/04 DIAMOND 1291 SHAMROCK LAS CRUCES NM $20.05
02/06/07 DIRECT DEPOSIT ADVANCE ON 02/06 ($14.00 *FINANCE CHARGE* ALSO APPLIES) +$140.00
02/07/07 OVERDRAFT FEE $34.00
02/07/07 OVERDRAFT FEE $34.00
02/07/07 OVERDRAFT FEE $34.00

i'm like wtf? what happened was the diamond sh. purchase was on sunday, then i bought shoes @ payless on monday, then went to walmart, bought food, and overdrew the account with the walmart purchase. i knew i did it, so i took out the direct deposit advance to cover the walmart purchase. all that happened was that the transactions posted in the wrong order, and i was going to just bring in the receipts and inform them of the mistake. if it all would have went the way i planned it, i would be out NO OD fees, and i would owe on next direct deposit. worst case scenario, i get hit with one OD fee, and i would feel like an idiot, because i did it. went to bank, they told me the biggest purchase ALWAYS posts first to make sure the account can cover it. i wasnt happy about that, because they didnt even WANT to look at the receipts. it made no differance to them. i escalated the issue to the manager, who, as a COURTESY, was willing to give back one OD fee. i was like . i told her it has to be 2/3. that didnt go over. i told her that it was either 2, or nothing so that i could debate it further, but she had already done it. i just told her to leave it. next i went to work, and am working on cancelling direct deposit. once i get all things paid on the account in question, i am going to go on a major crap slinging fest, and if they dont bow to the other od fee right away, im going to cancel accounts permantly. if they go into retention mode, i am going to demand all od fees to be removed plus a little extra . wish me luck

sorrry for the long read, but if anybody can help me, that would be great. if anybody works for wells fargo that knows the motions, that would be great too. next stop will probly be a credit union, who is out to get you with loans, not stupid fees.

p.*., almost got hit by a tundra pulling out of the bank that night when i was at the atm. that didnt help any either.

They generally do not budge more than the one OD fee that they gave back. Ditchboy has closed two and opened a THIRD bank account because of this. He'* running out of new banks to go to.

its not the balancing part. i overdrew the account, i KNEW i overdrew the account when i did it, but in only did it ONE time, not 3 times. btw, i have 2 checking accounts, and to get OD protection, you either have to have a credit card, or a savings account. neither of which i have, nor plan on getting <using one as savings >

Yeah, just so you know, I got my credit card JUST for the OD. When I started off with my checking account, I didn't manage it very well and ended up making 5 34 dollar OD charges. I could only eliminate 2, and they told me they wouldn't do it again. So I got a credit card and signed up for OD protection. It'* saved my bum a couple times

i got into a similar scrap with a bank i dealt with here in canada a few years ago and the line they told me was that they have NO control over when stuff posts to your acct. they said it depends on when the person you bought stuff from does THEIR banking.

ie: go shopping at joes store sunday
go shopping at walmart monday.

walmart does their banking monday night. joe doesn't do his banking till tuesday. walmart posts first, then joes.

bottom line, i got squat out of the bank except a lecture on how i should keep better records of what i spend.

so if you can get something out of wells fargo go for it for all of us who got shot down!

OK, screw Wells Fargo. They screwed my parents on a loan, they get no business from me.
Chase seems to be a good company to do business with, though. The only thing I don't like is that I use other companies' ATMs a lot, and they charge $1.50 for using outside ATMs. The only thing they ever screwed up was that, somehow, the first check I got at a company went into the wrong account. It took them three days to track it down, but they got it back to me, and apologized profusely to both of us.
