First Day of school
Thanks Fuel, this child not only is deaf/blind he has what is known as "C.H.A.R.G.E." syndrom, he is tube fed, he just learned to walk last year (he is 7) he is autistic, he is now riding a bike.........I have far to much fun with him!!! I love working with him, I am not his regular T.A., but I do cover for those who are, and we are now teaching him sign, it is slow, and if he learns one sign in six months, that is a good thing. Today I got to walk around the school with him during my lunch hour supervision.....He can sure motor along, he is starting to walk faster than me!!!!
Back to school for me as a parent is Co$tly.
Not only supplies for my sons 7 classes, I have to pay $371/Month up front each month for the YMCA afterschool program until I can pick him up after work.
Then I cant waite for the filed trip expenses to roll in. Lovely......

When I graduated high school in January 1983 I got to keep my cap & gown. I still have it.
I think that kids should have to go to school all year long. Having summer vacations only gives them a false sense of reality. Wouldn't we all like to get a few months off of work for summer break and a week at Thanksgiving and two weeks for Christmas break??? Teach the kids reality.
I also think that all the people we deal with ie: power co, phone, satellite/cable, credit cards, etc should not make us pay in December as a Christmas present to their customers. That would be nice but it will never happen :(
