is there any way to track down a car? I want to find out where exactly my bonneville went because it seems to be a big mystery. Supposedly it was crashed last winter, but the guy who bought it is playing dumb on where it went. I'd like to find out just out of curiosity. can I go to the secretary of state and ask who the car was last registered to?

you could run the VIN if ya still have it and see if it was totaled. I don't think you can find out anything other than service and accident info though

Ya, all your could do is get a VIN report. These days you can't even get a persons hospital room number unless you can prove next of kin. Privacy laws have gone over the top.
