I'm actually slightly homesick right now. It'* funny, because this is my 4th year, and it is the first time I've felt this way.

I believe it stems from the following reasons:

1. I live in party central. This whole townhouse complex is LOUD. I like to have a good time, but I don't like living around it. I'm actually ready to kill my neighbors.
2. At home I had a job and I didn't have to cook my own food.
3. I didn't have as many expenses at home.
4. Home is quiet.

You'll get used to the dorms. I had the best time of my life living in that 'prison'-like cell.

I was home sick for the first week or so. Best advice I can give you is to get out and make some friends. Network as much as possible. It'll really help ease the "pain."

also another reason why is that my parents were alway overprotective because of the fact I was deaf. So I was so used to my parents trailing me or next to me and I've alway said, "oh go do something, you don't need to worry about me" etc, all the normal things teens say to their moms and dads, then at college you want them back for guidance and other things but they're not there... so kinda hard...especially after 18 years of that....

Chin up Fuel, I remember a little more than a month ago you were looking forward to it. Ya Rochester is an old city with alot of desolate looking area'*. Some nicer ones as well. Bandit will show ya what I mean. Once school starts i'm sure it will get alot easier. State Fair is coming up an hour away from you and it'* like no other, you should check it out. I myself am 2 hours and some small change from ya, and if and when my legal crap crap get settled I would enjoy a visit from you. We could go to town for Dinner and I'll let ya drive us in the Venom.

Hang in there Cody... like others have said, it'* always difficult to adjust to a new place. It doesn't matter who you are, it'* difficult.

Had a very good friend at college who was deaf. He fit in with the rest of the folks just fine.

Just remember lots of other folks who are freshmen are in the same situation you are in. So go and find them!

Glad to hear it. I go to Dreyden hopefully for the final showdown with the DA Sept.6 but I wont get my hopes up. Place is unreal. This is the third reschedule for a pretrial and I've been w/o a license the whole summer. Surrendered it June 6th,.....Street racing is a bad idea when you get caught with all the bells and whistles going, all the speeding tickets they allow in 18 months, and a probational license with the DA waving an 11 page DMV rap sheet at the judge. I'll let ya know.
