Heck one guy having a bad day could mean you never even get your package.
I wonder if working for FedEx or UPS is like working at Mcdonalds, (or in my case an Applebees I worked at years ago in my hometown)...once you work there and see what is going on behind the scenes, you never buy from them again.

I sub-contracted for DHL. I would take a semi truck half full from Elmira to the Ithaca sort facility, watch them sort it, put it back on the truck and then I would goto the Syracuse Airport with it. They were none to kind themselves. Heck, even the way I drove, it wasn't too pleasant.

case 1 for those of you that cant tell what is in the box it is a set of ported alum heads for my TA and this is how it arrived through UPS. Now I called the guy i bought them from and this is a ups packed and shipped box and this is how it arrived.
Case 2 I got a lt4 hotcam kit from a buddy and UPS straight up told him they lost it
Case 3 Bought 42.5 lb injectors off another buddy and they got lost in transit also
Case 4 Bought over 3K worth of suspension from a kid and used FED EX and the boxes arrived in pristine order all 150 lbs worth of them.
so as far as I am concerned F**K UPS

Guess it depends on which terminal you deal from, I have no choice. Its UPS or nothing. Because I live out in the boonies on a private lake road FedEx won't deliver here and I get tired of having to drive the 20 miles up into NY to get FedEx packages at the terminal. once I was a day late and they freakin sent the package back, even though I told them I would be in to get it. For me either an internet vendor uses UPS or I likely use one that does. My UPS guy is the same one everytime, I am on his established route, and he knows me and where the hell I live. I used them alot, nothing has ever been lost, or damaged.
I have recieved 2 packages from DHL, at my Post Office. I always wonder who they stroked in the US Gov??? Why is it they can leave packages for you at your Post Office, but the other two can't? Because they are a foreign, German Gov subsidized business competing with US companies. Yah, that why our Gov sucks and American companies have such a hard time making it. Lets appear international friendly, cater to everyone else before ourselves.

Well package arrived today after I got home from work..they delivered later that normal.
Tracking didn't get updated until it was delivered, then suddenly there was a whole list of places it stopped, and left.
Just glad it arrived with no damage. After hearing different experiences and seeing those pics, I don't think I want to ship anything with anybody anymore now lol.

Haha, that makes no business sense what-so-ever.
After thinking this whole shipping things over I have come to the conclusion that if you want something to get somewhere without any damage, it needs to be packed VERY well. And if you want to cover them somehow loosing it..get insurance. I think those are really the only options left, regardless of who you ship with.
I must say, the company that shipped my TV did an excellent job packing it..I see a lot of times things like this just get shipped with a sticker slapped on the original box..so the whole world can see what it is..but they had it boxed up in a larger box completely cushioned by packing peanuts.
So in the end I think the question of who should I chose to ship it becomes less important as to who am I buying it from and how are they going to pack it.
